Learning for Life and Work (GCSE)
This course will consist of three externally assessed modules and two written reports. These elements add up to a full GCSE.
During these modules the pupils will be expected to complete homework, carry out research inside and outside school and take part in individual and group work. This course involves coursework and some practical work, therefore pupils will need to be well organised and prepared to work hard.
Pupils will study the following modules:-
1) Local and Global Citizenship
A study of this module will include the following themes:
(i) Diversity and Inclusion
(ii) Equality and Social Justice
(iii) Democracy in Action
2) Personal, Development
A study of this module will include the following themes:
(i) Health and Drugs Education
(ii) Relationships and Sexuality
(iii) Financial Responsibility
3) Learning for Work
A study of this module will include the following themes:
(i) Work in the Local and Global Economy
(ii) Personal Career Planning
(iii) Enterprise and Entrepreneurship
Pupils will also complete two reports which will constitute 60% of the total marks.
Due to the modular nature of this course full attendance is vital. Any absences will hamper chances of achieving a top grade.
